„It Was the Moment” von Michelle Gurevich und „Young-Girl Forever” von Sofie Royer; diese zwei Alben stellt die Mai-Sendung von Radio Grille vor.

Beide Alben sind bereits 2024 erschienen. Sie vereint ein poetischer, künstlerischer Zugang zu Pop mit einer speziellen, politisch gefärbten und dennoch zutiefst persönlichen Art des Storytellings.
Während Sofie Royer ihren Pop mit Stilelementen von Hyperpop und Disco versetzt, liebäugelt Michelle Gurevich mit den Elementen von Chanson und Singer-Songwriter.

Das besondere sind dabei die Geschichten, die erzählt werden und die nicht zu Popmärchen verklärt sind sondern von Liebe, Verlust aber auch von neoliberaler Eigenzurichtung und queeren Lebensformen erzählen.

The albums “It Was the Moment” by Michelle Gurevich and “Young-Girl Forever” by Sofie Royer are the focus of Radio Grille’s May show.

Both albums were released in 2024. They combine a poetic, artistic approach to pop with a special, politically tinged and yet deeply personal kind of storytelling.
While Sofie Royer mixes her pop with stylistic elements of hyperpop and disco, Michelle Gurevich flirts with elements of chanson and singer-songwriter.

The special thing here are the stories that are told; they are not made up pop fairy tales but stories of love, loss but also of neoliberal self-destruction and queer ways of life.
