Hype vs. Kulturgut: Ube

The Austrian asylum law vs. the human rights declaration.

Many courageous people and organisations exist that communicate human rights abuses in our society. Especially when it comes to the situation of asylum seekers mistreatments are reported regularly. In the case of the 18-year-old Yankuba Ceesay who died on the 4th of October 2005 in deportation detainment in Linz (Austria) a platform of civil rights organisations ignited protests and try to bring light into the dark of the legal proceedings.

The broadcast involves interviews with Christian Schoerkhuber (Fluechtlingsbetreuung, Volkshilfe), Guelcan Gigl (Plattform Zivilcourage), Ike Okafur (Black Community Upper Austria) and Harald Schmutzhard (Social Impact).
