From 14 to 17 June 2023, filmmaker Haile Gerima is in Vienna at the invitation of the University of Applied Arts.

On 14 June 2023 at 18h10, he gave a lecture entitled “Panafrican Cinema of Liberation”. The lecture focused on “forms, contents and aesthetics of a cinema of liberation whose original aim in the 1960s and 1970s was to support decolonization and bring about real independence, especially for people of African nations on the continent and in the diaspora”. Vom 14. bis 17. Juni 2023 ist der Filmemacher Haile Gerima in wien, auf Einladung der Universität für Angewandte Kunst.

Am 14. Juni 2023 um 18h10 hielt er einen Vortrag mit dem Titel “Panafrican Cinema of Liberation”. Im Mittelpunkt des Vortrags standen “Formen, Inhalte und Ästhetik eines Befreiungskinos, dessen ursprüngliches Ziel in den 1960er und 1970er Jahren es war, die Dekolonisierung zu unterstützen und eine wirkliche Unabhängigkeit herbeizuführen, insbesondere für Menschen afrikanischer Nationen auf dem Kontinent und in der Diaspora”.
