Fresh Produce for everyone, Fresh Pizza, Family & Friends, and Live Music!
Community Farms are owned by members, who strengthen the farms by their purchase of a fully refundable membership. To make this affordable for everyone, the membership can usually be paid all at once or in annual installments at a fraction of the total amount.
The Intervale Community Farm was founded in 1990 in Burlington, Vermont. The Farm is dedicated to increasing access to fresh, organic produce for everyone. With the help of volunteering members, this Coop is donating extra vegetables to those in need, for example via the Vermont Foodbank, which makes a huge impact for the community.
On Thursdays during Summer, volunteers put on an event called the Summervale, which gets a diverse mix of residents from Burlington and surrounding villages, to come out and try some produce in form of a Pizza or other delicacies, and listen to a local live band.
In this show, we talk a bit about this Vermont Cooperative, and play some music of diverse Artists that played a set at one of the Summervale festivals in the past years.
