For the past five years, I have been humbly studying the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam — a sacred text of over 18,000 verses — under the loving guidance of my teachers Raghunath Cappo and Kaustubha Das. Their wisdom has anchored me through countless inner transformations, and last week, we arrived together at the opening of the 10th Canto.
The Bhāgavatam itself is more than a scripture. It’s a living story — a river of divine narrative, philosophy, poetry, and heart. It begins with cosmic questions and culminates in the intimate pastimes of Śrī Kṛṣṇa — the Divine appearing in human form, to restore balance when the world forgets.
And before He descends, before Kṛṣṇa even takes birth, the Earth Herself — Bhūmi Devi — comes forward. She is aching. She is weary. She appears in the form of a cow and approaches Lord Brahman, weeping for help. She can no longer bear the burden of human greed, power, and ignorance.
It is this cry — this cosmic moment of divine lament — that inspires today’s show. It is the Earth’s voice we are listening for. Not in anger. In grief. In her plea to be remembered, revered, and restored.
