In our conversation, Principal Selami Klaiqi offered a comprehensive overview of how the new school year has begun at “Ismail Qemali” High School. He highlighted a mix of innovations and challenges. Among the key innovations were improvements to the school’s infrastructure and a stronger emphasis on digital teaching methods. On the other hand, challenges—particularly the declining student numbers in the satellite classes in Rogan and Hogosht—remain a pressing concern.
Mr. Klaiqi expressed deep concern about the increasing trend of student migration—both to larger cities within Kosovo and abroad. According to him, this not only reduces student numbers but also affects the social and economic fabric of the local community.
- Nevertheless, he proudly shared the successes of former students, many of whom have gone on to work in various institutions, both domestically and internationally. This, he noted, is a testament to the continued quality of education at the school despite the ongoing challenges.
The conversation also touched on the importance of keeping young people connected to their communities and the urgent need for supportive policies that could help slow down the depopulation of rural schools.
Gjatë bisedës sonë, drejtori Selami Klaiqi ndau një pasqyrë të qartë mbi fillimin e vitit të ri shkollor në gjimnazin “Ismail Qemali”. Ai theksoi se shkolla këtë vit është përballur me një kombinim të sfidave dhe risive. Ndër risitë më të rëndësishme përmendi përmirësimet në infrastrukturë dhe një qasje më të theksuar ndaj mësimdhënies digjitale. Megjithatë, sfidat nuk kanë munguar, veçanërisht në raport me numrin e nxënësve në rënie në paralelët në Rogan dhe Hogosht.
Drejtori Klaiqi foli me shqetësim për trendin në rritje të emigrimit të nxënësve, si drejt qyteteve më të mëdha në Kosovë, ashtu edhe jashtë vendit. Sipas tij, kjo jo vetëm që ndikon në uljen e numrit të nxënësve, por edhe në strukturën sociale dhe ekonomike të komunitetit lokal.
- Në anën tjetër, ai ndau me krenari sukseset e ish-nxënësve të shkollës, të cilët sot janë të punësuar në institucione të ndryshme, brenda dhe jashtë Kosovës, duke dëshmuar se përkundër sfidave, cilësia e arsimit të ofruar mbetet e lartë.
Biseda u fokusua edhe në rëndësinë e ruajtjes së lidhjes së të rinjve me komunitetin dhe nevojën për politika mbështetëse që mund të frenojnë zbrazjen e shkollave rurale.
