I feel a deep joy in archiving those who archive the archive—
in holding this moment, here and now,
with people who are building something for the future:
memories, traces, and the enduring marks of queer-feminist artistic strength and creativity.
This special Ženergija episode is dedicated to my residency project VBKÖ: When Archives Speak.
A collage of voices, sounds, and moments—this show brings together fragments recorded during the opening of the renovated VBKÖ space on March 14, and the exhibition Polyphonic Archive, Entangled Voices, which you can visit until May 2, 2026.
In this episode, you heard voices of visitors, artists, and collaborators—sharing thoughts, impressions, and pieces of the archive—voices that together create a living, breathing memory of that day.
With deep gratitude, I would like to thank everyone who contributed—if I may have misspelled a name, please forgive me:
Alma, Alisa, Julia, Helena, Ludmila, Camil, Stefanie, Oliver, Lucia, Alejandro, Anne, Guillermo, and many others who became part of this collective sound archive.
Within this collage, you also heard fragments of installations by Tahereh Nourani (Archive of Futures), as well as fragments from works by Vinko Nino Jaeger, including Unter deinem Schatten and Hollenstein und Kameradinnen, engaging with the question: where are the queer people in the VBKÖ archive?
A special thank you to the artists and collaborators who shared their work, thoughts, and presence in this residency:
Pêdra Costa, Daniel Hill, Vinko Nino Jaeger, Eszter Katalin, Tahereh Nourani, Christina Werner, Georgia Holz, Veronika Hösch, and the VBKÖ members.
Thank you to Tahereh Nourani for the beautiful jingle, to Andrej Ostroški for the design, and to the incredible team who made this show possible—Marija Jociūtė and my dear collaborator MJ from Allystreet Studios. Don’t miss their show O-Sounds 94.0 on Radio Orange.
