In this episode of FemPoem, Romina Achatz is in conversation with writer and grief facilitator Adriana Bascone about grief, writing, memory, and what it means to be alive in the aftermath of loss.

Through an intimate exploration of Adriana’s writing and personal experience, they reflect on grief not as something to overcome, but as an inseparable feature of life itself. They discuss how loss transforms our relationship with time, identity, how writing can give language to experiences that resist articulation; and how love continues to shape our lives long after someone is gone.

The conversation explores the social expectations surrounding grief and the possibility of embracing beauty and creativity without turning away from grieving. It also touches on care and the people who show up for us in the moments when it matters most. What does it mean to grieve fully and to live fully? And how might we learn to live with loss without asking it to disappear?

Following this intimate conversation on grief, Adriana Bascone shares three of her essays, exploring loss, care, and the connections.
