Two anniversaries and a retrospective: Furrer 70 / Nono 100

This podcast is dedicated to the French composer, performer and multimedia artist Pierre Jodlowski. He was in Graz in January 2024.

Schallfeld Ensemble played his music on the 25th of January 2024 at the Theater am Lend (Focus on Pierre Jodlowski I, as part of the open music concert series in Graz). The next day Pierre Jodlowski joined the saxophonist Gerald Preinfalk and the percussionist Martin Brandlmayr. As Trio71 they performed in the tube’s (open music, Focus on Pierre Jodlowski II). He also visited the University of Music, hosted by the composer and teacher Franck Bedrossian in his composition class. Bedrossian kindly interviewed his colleague Jodlowski and today you can listen to the recording of their conversation about music.

You’ll also hear some excerpts from:

Pierre Jodlowski:Time & Money for percussion and electronics (Performer: Jean Geoffroy).

The show will end with the recording of a fragment of the concert played by the Trio71 on the 26th of January 2024 in the tube’s within the concert series open music Graz.

Schallfeld Ensemble performed at open music as a Young Ensemble in Residence of the Ulysses Network funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and in cooperation with impuls, whose associated partner is open music with several projects in 2023 and 2024.
