Luca Guidarini is a composer and reseaercher from Italy. He received a scholarship from the Styrian Artist in Residence program and spent some months in Graz to work with Ensemble Schallfeld on a new composition. In this talk, Luca speaks with Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka about how his musical background as guitar player influenced his path as a composer, how he aims to combine analog and digital tools of sound creation to look for unknown and unusual timbres and expressions and we hear about his current piece, « as it fits it thrives, it rots » and its unusual setup.
