Knowledgeable Youth: Science Communication in Times of War

This radio program is part of the youth project called Knowledgeable Youth: Science Communication in Times of War, organised by Eurozine in collaboration with RECET and Radio Orange, and funded by the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna. The program consists of four episodes, produced by Ukrainian youth groups who arrived in Vienna after the war.

In the final episode, you will listen to these Ukrainian students reflecting on the youth project and discussing the topic of the future. Inspired by the article «Children of the Twenty-First Century» by Lucas Becht, which was explored during one of the workshops in our youth project, the article delves into young people’s futuristic visions in Poland around the 1960s. It explains how these visions revealed underlying tensions and contradictions within communist ideology, particularly concerning technological advancements. For these Ukrainian students, if you wonder whether their future involves Austria or not, you will also hear their impressions of Austria and life in Vienna so far.

More information about the project can be found under https://www.eurozine.com/focal-points/youth-project/

In this episode you will hear Schwanensee von Tschaikovsky, Photograph von Nickelback, Ständchen von Schubert und Not about love von Fiona Apple.
Produced by Margit Wolfsberger and Mischa Hendel.
