Beim Degrowth Festival Alt-shift werden nicht nur anti-kapitalistische Wirtschaftsformen mit seiner Wachstumsobsession erforscht, sondern auch anti-patriarchale, dekoloniale und abolitionistische Perspektiven erkundet, die ein gewaltfreies kollektives Zusammenleben in Solidarität nicht nur theoretisieren, sondern auch versuchen zu leben.

In dieser Radioshow von Women on Air widerlegen die Workshop Gestalter:innen und Festivalorganisierer:innen nicht nur die Mythe, dass Degrowth verringerte Lebensstandards bedeutet. Sie zeigen auch, wie Kapitalismus, Patriarch, Kolonialismus und Rassismus als ein Organismus unsere Gesellschaft spalten. Und sie berichten von den Herausforderungen, ein Degrowth Festival zu organisieren, das versucht, Heteronormativität zu hinterfragen und Gewalt gegen Minoritäten gegenzuwirken, und sich jedoch immer noch in einer Welt wiederfindet , die all dies in ihr Fundament gegossen hat.

Not quite. At the Degrowth Festival Alt-Shift, alternative economic forms are explored, beyond the growth and performance addiction.Here, not only anti-capitalist, but also anti-patriarchal, decolonial, and abolitionist perspectives are practiced, seeking ways of collective, nonviolent co-existing that are not only theorized, but also practiced.

In this Women on Air radio show, workshop facilitators and festival organizers debunk the myth that degrowth stands for a decline in living standards. Rather they reveal how capitalism, patriarchy, colonialism, and racism function as one organism that divides our society and causes financial and social precarity. And they share the challenges of organizing a degrowth festival that seeks to question heteronormativity and counter violence against minorities, while still being situated in a world whose very foundation is shaped by these structures.
