Last night on Ženergija, I had a beautiful conversation with Marisel Bongola and Marissa Lôbo about the making of MEZEKƎRƎ.

A conversation woven through memory, friendship, care, love and attention — and through the incredible dedication, enthusiasm and dreams that have gone into building this new art space in Vienna.

MEZEKƎRƎ has the potential to become much more than a space for exhibitions: a place for knowledge, critical thinking, artistic production and community, where migrant and BIPoC artists and communities can develop their practices, capacities and possibilities.

And now — the doors are opening.

On October 2, MEZEKƎRƎ officially opens with Anunciação das Ardências, the first solo exhibition in Europe by Brazilian artist Gê Viana.
