Worldwide, colorectal cancer is the third commonest cancer in men and the second commonest cancer in women. Screening, starting with 50 years of age, would prevent 90% of all colorectal cancers. Colonoscopy is the best screening instrument. Since 2014, there is a new option, a non-invasive stool test for DNA. The new stool test for DNA was tested against colonoscopy. Colonoscopy was better and remains the best option. However, if you say, “I insist on a non-invasive screening test and I do not want a colonoscopy”, the new stool test for DNA can be a possibility for you. Go to screening for colorectal cancer, preferably with colonoscopy, starting with 50 years of age.
