Wir haben im Dezember 2011 Robin und Trina von Kranti (Hindi für “Revolution”) interviewt, die in Mumbai, Indien, mit den Töchtern von Sexarbeiterinnen arbeiten. Gestoßen sind wir auf die Organisation durch eine Al Jazeera-Dokumentation, die gemeinsam mit den Kids (vorrangig erstmal individuelle) Handlungsperspektiven für ihr Leben zu schaffen versucht.

Robin und Trina, die beiden Initiatorinnen, erzählen zum Hintergrund ihres Ansatzes, der durchaus einen ungewöhnlich breiteren gesellschaftlichen Anspruch verfolgt (daher auch der Name der Organisation), ohne ihn auf dem Rücken der Kids auszutragen.

Zwischendurch gibt’s Musik von Tank Girl aus Nepal.

In Dec 2011 we interviewed Trina and Robin of Kranti (Hindi for “revolution” – contrasting their own approach to those of other organizations in the field), an NGO which first drew our attention via a documentary by Al Jazeera English. The organization, who are working with the daughters of sexworkers in Mumbai, India, are working together with the kids to achieve a foundation and individual perspectives for their lives.

Robin and Trina, founders of Kranti, explain their approach and its broader social claim, while taking care that the girls are not the means but the end of action.
