Raumgestaltung - Partizipative Stadtentwicklung: Diskussion

The women of Sudan are in the midst of a harrowing struggle against the backdrop of a complex political landscape, particularly in their battle against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). This paramilitary group, notorious for its brutal tactics, has wielded sexual violence as a weapon, systematically using it to instill fear and achieve a sinister political agenda. The current situation has not only jeopardized the safety and dignity of countless women but has also highlighted the broader implications of gender-based violence in conflict zones. It’s essential to recognize that these women’s resilience is met with immense challenges, yet their voices deserve to be amplified.

This event features the Sudanese-Austrian poet Taudod Abdelrahman who will share one of her poems titled «A Letter to Sudan” to highlight the situation of women in Sudan, and the broader implications of gender-based violence in conflict zones.

The event was organized in cooperation with WAVE Network (Women Against Violence Europe) and StoP – Stadtteile ohne Partnergewalt as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.
