Born in 1924 in Oświęcim/Auschwitz to Jewish parents, Karl Littner was deported as a Jewish prisoner to various Nazi concentration camps from 1941. In 1944, he was sent to the « Bergkristall » complex. Despite suffering immense deprivation and harassment, he survived Gusen II camp and the forced labor.
