No More Violence Against Women – The Podcast of the WAVE Network

In this podcast, WAVE voices are amplified to shed light on the many forms and dimensions of violence against women and girls, the importance of prevention, key legislation such as the Istanbul Convention, and national developments across Europe. Through the expertise, efforts, and experiences of women’s specialist service providers, women’s human rights defenders and feminist activists, we explore challenges, progress, and the urgent need for action.

In this episode, we explore the critical issue of gender-based violence (GBV) in conflict and post-conflict settings through a discussion with experts from frontline specialist services in Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Georgia. Our guests, Inessa Adilkhanyan, Gorica Ivić and Ekaterine Gamakharia, share their experiences and insights on the complexities of GBV in these contexts, including domestic violence exacerbated by conflict, and the intersecting vulnerabilities faced by women and marginalised groups. Additionally, we highlight the vital role of women’s NGOs in supporting survivors, advocating for change, and tackling the specific challenges of GBV during and after war while delving into the innovative toolkit and training manual developed within the 2022-2024 WAVE/OSCE project. These resources provide women’s organisations and other key actors with practical tools to prevent and respond to GBV in war and post-war settings.
