How do you stay insurgent even though you lay down the weapons?

Women fighters who were involved in the leftist armed struggle in Colombia are now adapting to civilian lives and staying resistant as feminists. Author Priscyll Anctil Avoine, together with social worker and artist Zulay Carolina Rueda, turned real testimonies of these women into a fictional graphic novel. In this recording she talks about how the former guerrilleras, or farianas, are navigating lives in the post-war period, how their experiences shaped them and the transformation of the military combat into a feminist one, as well as providing an insight into her writing process.

Priscyll Anctil Avoine talks about graphic novel «Militancia feminista post-lucha armada de las farianas» with moderation by Luisa Dietrich Ortega (Frauen*solidarität)
