Let’s talk about migrations, what Yugoslavia means to us, how the post-Yugoslav diaspora is organized.

The beginning must be revolutionary, so my first guest is Jana Dolecki, theatre scholar, author, cultural producer, and a choir conductor. She finished her doctoral studies at the Institute for Theater, Film, and Media in Vienna, on the topic of theater in the context of the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990s. As the co-founder of the BLOCKFREI organisation for culture and communication, as well as an independent cultural producer, she actively initiated, managed or participated in different projects dealing with the topic of migration, artistic production, and post-yugoslav diaspora communities. She is the conductor of the Brunnenpassage Children Choir, and of the Viennese choir Hor 29. Novembar, a singing self-organized collective dedicated to anti-fascistic, workers’, and migratory musical heritage.

What is important to say is that Jana is primarily a friend, an incredibly precious woman in this time whose story should be heard, because such people leave a mark in history!
