We recognize this day as deeply rooted in the long histories of connected feminist struggles.
The 8th March is not a celebration of commodified, unpaid, invisibilized, feminized, racialized care that keeps these violent systems going.
This 8th March, we march together in solidarity and demand an end to patriarchal, queerphobic, capitalist, colonial and imperialist violence.
Together we raise our voices against femicides, war, fascism, genocide, repression, deportations and displacement.
Together, we denounce a political agenda that cuts an already inadequate social welfare system, that takes funding from healthcare, social security, and emergency shelters while people are freezing to death in the streets of Vienna.
Together, we resist militarization, authoritarianism, terracide and systemic racism. Violence feeds on dehumanisation – we refuse it in every form and our solidarity is with all those resisting it.
Together we will fight for a world where lives matter more than profit, where bodies are not treated as spoils of war or territories to be controlled/conquered.
Without us, the world does not function. Without us, nothing is produced or reproduced.
There can be no justice without collective care, and no liberation without collective responsibility in shared struggle. As TBTS, we place this understanding at the center of our queerfeminist politics. Our feminism is international, anti-capitalist, anti-colonial, and queer.
We understand practices of care and solidarity as the foundation that keeps movements alive, protects individuals and makes sustained struggle and lasting structural change possible.
It means building our own structures of support when the state fails us.
It means choosing solidarity across state borders and different lived realities instead of division and competition. It means believing in the potential of organising together.
Together we want to create space for community building and political action.
We will cultivate solidarity that transcends borders and backgrounds that differ from our own. In our practice of care the means and ends of social change come together.
We recognize that as a strategy for survival and the foundation for collective resistance. May care endure. May life persist.
For a free Afghanistan, a free Abya Yala, a free DR Congo, a free Iran, a free Kurdistan, a free Palestine, a free Sudan, a free Ukraine, a free Venezuela, a free Xinjang – for the liberation of all people. For our dead and the living and for all those currently in danger of losing their lives.
¡No pasarán!
¡A descolonizar & despatriarcar, la vida en el centro!
Jin Jiyan Azadî!
Palestine will be free!
Zen Zendegi Azadi!
Bijî Berxwedana Rojava!
Es lebe der Widerstand!
OPEN CALL – HELPING HANDS
Dear all, the 8th of March is getting nearer and the Take Back the Streets Alliance is looking for precious Helping Hands! For this year‘s 8th of March demostration, we‘re looking for:
- Stewards / ORDNER*INNEN
- CARE-Team /Awareness
- WE KEHR A LOT – supportive cis-men doing care work
As you know, the demonstration depends on this support, so we are very grateful for your participation!
This call is open for ALL, NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
What exactly are looking for:
Ordnis/Stewards: task is to ensure the general security of the participants
Care/Awareness: task is to ensure the general wellbeing of the participants and be present for emotional/psychological support
We are working on a specific concept for both tasks and there will be trainings on the 01.03. and 08.03.
If you have capacities to join the protest & help us, scan the code & join the signal group!
If that doesn‘t work, you can text us on Instagram.
Protests are always a collective effort – since we want to ensure the safety & wellbeing of everyone at the demonstration, we would be really grateful for your support!
Concerning the „WE KEHR A LOT“-Team:
We care & kehr a lot! The „We Kehr A Lot“ block will collect trash together during the demonstration.
Trash bags, gloves & grabbers will be provided by us. If you want to join & help us out because you care too, please come collect your tools at 5pm at the demo-car.
Please return your tools after the closing rally at Held*innenplatz (also to us at the car)!
Since we will be eating together during the rally at Held*innenplatz, it would be wonderful if some of you could stay with us till the end so we can ensure that we leave both rally spaces & the route clean.
